The Vampire Diaries’ Tessa (Janina Gavankar) seems like the type with a plan. After all, she’s had 2,000 years to fantasize about how to take down Silas if she ever found herself back on this side of the veil. But what is the vengeful witch planning? We speculate about her scheme below.
According to the official synopsis for Season 5, Episode 6: “Handle With Care,” “Tessa confidently tells Stefan about her next move, then realizes that Silas has managed to outsmart her.” Does this mean that she has Stefan on her side? We know he has vowed to kill Silas, but he’d need his memory back to remember how pissed he is at the immortal for locking him in an underwater prison for three months. Stefan as willing (or unwilling) collateral sure is going to complicate any attempted Tessa takedown.
Meanwhile, Silas seems to have somehow garnered Damon and Elena’s help. According to the synopsis, “Silas happily announces his new goal to Damon and Elena, but they are skeptical when he promises to accomplish one important task in return for their help.” (Possibly to return Bonnie to the land of the living?) Whether or not Damon and Elena end up helping Silas with his harebrained scheme, Damon will somehow be let in on the details of Tessa’s because, as the synopsis reads, “Damon is stunned when he figures out the secret to Tessa’s plan.”
Hmm. There are always so many possibilities on this show! We’re still not convinced that Amara is really dead In fact, we kinda, sorta think that Tessa has her calcified body stashed somewhere. Could this be the “secret to Tessa’s plan” Damon finds out about? It would probably be painful enough to Silas to reveal that Amara has been desiccating somewhere this entire time, but we doubt that will be enough for Tessa. Will she revive the woman, just to cure her (for realsies this time) and kill her (for realsies this time) in front of Silas’ eyes?
If that is the case, Tessa is first going to have to get her hands on Katherine, who both she and Silas want for the cure running through her veins. According to the synopsis for the episode, “A desperate Katherine discovers a new and unexpected consequence of becoming human again, and realizes she needs a new place to stay.”
Katherine ends up crashing with Caroline at Whitmore, but what’s with the runaway act? Could Katherine be pregnant?! We’re not sure how a doppelganger baby would affect Tessa and/or Silas’ plan, but knowing this show, the babe would probably be the key to some kind of elaborate curse. (We’re mostly hoping for a baby storyline so that Katherine’s baby can have play dates with Klaus and Hayley’s baby on The Originals. Crossover episode!) Whatever Tessa is up to, she doesn’t seem to care who she hurts in the process. The Scooby Gang best be careful.
