We’re going to be surprised if Darren Wilden (Bryce Johnson) even makes it out of the first episode. Given that someone is probably rotting in that trunk, there are new police officers in town, and we haven’t seen Wilden in any of the promotional material floating around the Interweb, we think Wilden’s days are numbered...in the single digits. Maybe if Wilden had spent a little more time detecting and a little less time creeping on Hanna and her mom, then he’d have better chances.
Odds of survival: Kind of dismal. Sorry, Wildy!
Emily (Shay Mitchell) looks like she’s in for a rough season opening. Not only does she possibly get hit by a car in the Season 4 premiere, but there are promo pics of Em getting stretchered out of the Rosewood High locker room in Season 4, Episode 2: “Turn of the Shoe.” Yikes! Someone tried to kill Aria last season (and nearly succeeded). Will this be the season that a Liar bites the bullet?
Odds of survival: Excellent. Marlene King isn’t that evil... right?
Now that PLL has committed to the Spoby romance after an unsettling, red herring-like stumble in Season 3, we wonder how much longer Dr. Wren (Julian Morris) will serve a purpose on the show. Sure, he’s Rosewood’s resident doctor, Radley attendant, and go-to Liar chaperone, but his appearances could easily become superfluous. Plus, he was once engaged to the next lovely lady on our list which, as we outline below, pretty much spells death.
Odds of survival: Below average. It’s okay, Julian! It looks like you’re going to have more to do on Once Upon a Timenext season.
We’re actually kind of impressed Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) has made it this long. The woman has some nefarious friends/fiances who happen to drop like flies. Fiance Ian was one of the first to die when he was pushed off of the bell tower in the Season 1 finale. Her buddy Garrett died in last year’s Halloween episode. Could Melissa be the next N.A.T. Club member to fall?
Odds of survival: Decent. Because we’re still wondering if she is the one orchestrating everyone else’s downfall — the fresh-faced Machiavelli!
So far, the Liars’ parentals have remained relatively unscathed, but we sense this is going to be a big year for Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton). Following last season’s hit-and-run of a police officer, Ash is due for a fall. Word on the street is that we are going to hate Ashley Marin in Season 4. The thought is nigh unimaginable, but it does hint at some pretty epic story arcs for the badass Rosewood mom. Let’s just hope one of them isn’t her death.
Odds of survival: Could go either way. With the Liars’ graduating from high school, we think the PLL Powers That Be are going to up the ante in Season 4. Killing off one of the girls’ parents would certainly qualify.
