Glee Season 5: Blaine vs. [Spoiler] For Prom King — What About Queen?

It’s that time of the year again... the McKinley High School prom is coming to Glee! We know what you’re thinking: Prom? How could it possibly be time for prom? The school year is only just starting. Prom doesn’t happen until spring.

Yes. But you forget, dear reader, that Glee left off in the middle of the school year last season. When the show returns for Season 5 this September, it will be time for prom... and graduation will be coming up faster than we think.

McKinley’s senior prom will happen as soon as Glee Season 5, Episode 2: “Tina in the Sky With Diamonds.” We got our first look at all the festivities in the just-released extended promo for Episodes 1 and 2, and though prom only comprised a split second of the video, we saw enough to learn which seniors are up for the coveted roles of Prom King and Queen!

Based on the promo, Blaine (Darren Criss) is up for Prom King. That’s no surprise. What we weren’t expecting, though, is which guy ended up as his main competition — Stoner Brett! Oh Stoner Brett, how we love it when you show up on Glee.

The race for Prom Queen, judging from which girls are standing up on stage, was Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) vs. Celeste, the blonde Cheerio with a neck brace who’s always seemed to have a thing for Ryder. But now that we've seen Glee's official episode photos, we know that Kitty (Becca Tobin) is also in the running.

So now we know the candidates, but which of them will ultimately take home the crowns? We have no solid intel on that just yet, but rumors around Twitter and various fan sites say that Tina wins Prom Queen, while Stoner Brett is voted her King.

Obviously, we’re hoping that the Prom King intel turns out to be false. Blaine would look so great in that crown! But then again, if the people do end up choosing Stoner Brett... who are we to tell them they’re wrong?
