The Originals Season 1 Finale Synopsis — What Happens in “From a Cradle to a Grave”?

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here: Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) are having a baby on The Originals! And with the baby’s due date just happening to be the Season 1 finale — Season 1, Episode 22 (“From a Cradle to a Grave”) — you can but that there will be plenty of bloodshed.

But talk about baby mama drama! It appears Hayley has disappeared and nobody knows where she’s located. Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) are on the lookout for the expecting mother, who is desperate to hide from the witches.

But it seems as though Klaus has more to worry about than his newborn, because after a violent attack on Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and his army of vamps, Davina (Danielle Campbell) and Cami (Leah Pipes) will join together to take the hybrid down.

There are also wheelings and dealings going on, with talks between the humans and the werewolves kicking off. In the end, Klaus is going to have to make a “heartbreaking decision.” We’re officially worried.

Check out the synopsis for the May 13th episode:

“As the baby’s due date draws near, Klaus and Elijah embark on a search for Hayley, while Hayley herself is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her unborn baby safe and away from the witches. Francesca (Peta Sergeant) takes a meeting with Oliver (Chase Coleman) and Jackson (Nathan Parsons) to determine the future of the werewolves in New Orleans. In the aftermath of a surprising attack on Marcel and his vampires at the compound, Davina and Cami join resources to take down Klaus. Finally, in a desperate move to protect those most important to him, Klaus makes a heartbreaking decision.”
