The Originals Spoilers: Cami Will Give The Vampires “A Run For Their Money”

We’re totally falling in love with “brave bartender” Cami (Leah Pipes) on The Originals (and so, it seems, is every other character on the show). But the poor girl keeps getting her memory changed to forget all of the supernatural shenanigans she sees. Does Cami stand a chance against the vampires of New Orleans?

“There’s a lot more than meets the eye now and I love where they’re taking my character,” Leah told The Wrap of her character, implying that Cami is not a victim to be manipulated by Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Leah teased that part of Cami’s feistiness comes from her complex struggles in the past: “She has gone through hardships in her life, and she’s a very strong girl because of it, and gives these vampires a run for their money, which I’m enjoying.”

We’re eager to learn more about Cami’s mysterious backstory, which seemingly involves an old flame with a nasty temper. But will her complicated romantic history keep her from moving forward with one of the many handsome vamps who seem drawn to her? Nope!

“People are going to kiss in this show. There’s going to be kissing,” Leah said, though insisting that The Original is so much more than a love story. It is a “gangster show:”

“Everyone is fighting for New Orleans, not just the two vampires,” she said. “Even the humans, everyone is fighting for this wonderful little town. And it gets really complicated in a wonderful way, like The Godfather.” Kissing and gangsters. Works for us!
