Pretty Little Liars Spoilers: Can Ali Trust Her Parents?
Seeing Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) alive but a bit bedraggled in the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode (Season 4, Episode 13: “Grave New World”) made us realize how much running for her life has cost her. But where are her parents in all of this? Has she lost them as confidantes, too? Do they even know Ali faked her own death? Sasha spilled the deets on what Ali’s deal is with her parents, and whether they can be trusted.
It seems Ali has a reason for not wanting to trust dear old mom and dad: “There's a reason her parents aren't a safe haven for her, and you'll see more about that next season,” Sasha told ETonline. Yikes! Things have got to be pretty bad when you can’t tell your own parents you fake-died. We’ve always thought something was up with Mrs. DiLaurentis, who we’ve spent more time than Mr. DiLaurentis, but she seemed genuinely and intensely in mourning when Emily talked to her in Season 4A.
Mrs. D. also revealed to Em earlier this season that she and Ali’s father are getting a divorce. Does this have anything to do with “A” or Ali’s disappearance? Is it a horrible secret that is tearing this family apart, or the alleged death of their daughter?
Even if Ali does sort things out with the ‘rents, a Rosewood return would probably still not be in the cards for Ali: “There's a lot of different reasons why she can't just easily come back to town,” said Sasha. “There are reasons she's been hiding and the girls knowing she's alive doesn't change a lot for Ali, it just means they can help her now. For whatever reason, she's shown herself to them now.”
Better get to it, Liars! You never know, Sash. With Spencer’s stubborn single-mindedness set to bringing you home, you might make it back in time for Christmas...but probably not.
