When Ezra walked into “A’s” lair at the end of Season 4, Episode 12, Pretty Little Liars fans were shocked. Could Aria’s first love really be “A”?
Wetpaint Entertainment chatted with executive producer Oliver Goldstick to discuss the big Ezra reveal and how the Liars are starting to piece it all together.
“There are questions like, ‘Oh my god have we trusted somebody who has been not only a lover to Aria but a confidante to the girls?’ That blows up in 4B,” Oliver told us at the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Tuesday (October 15).
The Liars will even start to become more suspicious of Ezra in Season 4B, and some of his shady past behavior will be called into question.
“I think there will be things you saw in earlier episodes that now will pay off,” Oliver dished. “You’ll be like, ‘Ah, this is why he was secretive about this, [and] this is why he didn’t tell Aria about his family.’ You’ll be finding things out and going oh this is a pay-off. It’s something we planted early on in the series. We think we’ve set up Ezra in a good way, we think you’re going to be very satisfied.”
We’ve already pieced together the clues that Ezra may be “A,” but it sounds like one Little Liar is putting her detective hat on this season.
“What’s really fun in this new cycle is Hanna gets smart,” showrunner Marlene King told Wetpaint. “She’s very upset that Caleb is gone. So she throws herself into these detective novels and she sets out for the first time not rely on Spencer but herself to discover who A is.”
So it sounds like Hanna will be in hot pursuit of “A” this season, and seeing how she took something from “A’s” lair, she could start to catch on to Ezra’s lies. But she’ll need to keep her suspicions to herself, especially when Aria is around.
What do you think, Pretty Little Liars fans? Do you think Ezra really is “A”, and will Hanna figure it all out? Sound off in the comments!
