Brace yourself, Glee fans! If you’re anxious to have another “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), there might just be hope. In a recent Twitter Q&A during Season 5, Episode 16 (“Tested”), co-creator Ryan Murphy and a few of his talented stars took to social media to answer fan questions. What he had to say about the return of the Vocal Adrenaline stud has us giddy with joy!
It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Rachel’s (Lea Michele) ex-boyfriend, so when one fan pleaded with the Powers That Be to bring Jesse back, Ryan said, “I would love Jesse to come back!”
Phew, so that’s good news! Later on, another fan asked about the possibility of a potential love reconnection between Rachel and Jesse — and we’re surprised at what Ryan said! “Perhaps. What a great idea!” Ryan replied. Squeal!
We’re surprised about Ryan’s answer for many reasons. First, just yesterday the co-creator said that even the thought of Rachel getting another love interest is “painful” — and that was echoed again during the episode when Rachel gave Mercedes (Amber Riley) advice in the love department. That being said, we love the idea of these two getting back together. We know it’s hard with Finn (Cory Monteith) gone, but Rachel deserves to find love again, right? It only makes sense that it be with someone as gorgeous and talented as she is.
Plus, any world in which real life BFFs Lea and Jonathan end up together is OK with us.
