The Originals Spoilers: Are Klaus and Cami Getting Closer?

There has been an indefinable connection between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Cami (Leah Pipes) since The Originals premiered, but Klaus manipulated it and Cami eventually rejected it. Are these two about to rekindle their quasi-friendship?

“On set with Rue~ watching the amazing @leahmariepipes & @JosephMorgan perform. So much fantastic talent! #Camicam,” Persia White, aka Joseph’s adorable girlfriend, tweeted yesterday. Is it just us, or does her tweet sound like the two actors are filming a rather intense scene? Emotions tend to heighten whenever these two have a scene together, so we wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. We doubt Persia would be reacting this way to an expository or even-keeled scene.

We also know that, with the betrayal Klaus feels from both of his siblings, he is going to again turn to Cami as a confidante. According to the synopsis for Season 1, Episode 15 (“Le Grand Guignol”): "In a series of flashbacks to 1919, Klaus opens up to Cami and reveals details of the devastating secret Rebekah and Marcel were trying to keep from him.” Will this be the start of another upswing in the Cami/Klaus relationship?

Or might the scene in question have something to do with the on-going tragedy Cami is currently dealing with? She came to New Orleans to learn more about the tragic death of her twin brother, only to be confronted with the imminent death of another one: her uncle, Father Kieran. He was hexed with the same curse that led Cami’s twin to go o a murder spree before taking his own life. And, in the synopsis for Season 1, Episode 17 (“Moon Over Bourbon Street”), we learn that Cami will be continuing to “deal with her Uncle Kieran’s tragedy.” So much to cry on one another’s shoulders about!

Do you think Cami and Klaus will be growing closer? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below!

The Originals airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
