UPDATE 1/26/2014: After breaking down in frustration over Juan Pablo Galavis's random no-kiss rule of the week (and calling him out on it), we had a feeling Lauren Solomon's time on The Bachelor was drawing to a close. Sadly, she was eliminated at the Episode 4 Rose Ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
On her way out, she seemed to hold it together a little better than we had expected. She teared up a little in her exit interview, but we've definitely seen worse. Hold your head up, girl. There's always another chance waiting around the corner...
ORIGINAL STORY 9/19/2013: Of all of Juan Pablo Galavis’ contestants on The Bachelor 2014, 27-year-old Lauren Solomon seems to us like she just might be the most likely to win. Why, you ask? Oh, just because she’s found love on a game show before.
If something hadn’t happened (we don’t know what it was, but we’re dying to find out), Lauren would have been married on July 9, 2013 to a man named Blake Duplant. The funny part? They met on a game show. According to their wedding site, Lauren met Blake when they were both contestants on Minute to Win It. He won money, she won him. The two also appeared on The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. Though Lauren lost all three times, it seems like it was fun while it lasted — the game shows and the relationship.
A native of Clinton Township, Michigan, Lauren is now living the single life in Austin, Texas. But before she settled down in Texas’ weirdest city, she attended Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, graduating with a degree in Communications. Next, Lauren lived in Chicago, San Diego, and Los Angeles. And while in LA, she opened a concierge biz in Sherman Oaks called, creatively, The Concierge Referral Program.
Though the concierge name wasn’t the most original thing ever, these days Lauren is composing original piano music and even has her own iTunes channel. Perhaps if things work out with music enthusiast Juan Pablo, the sometimes-agent could represent her and pimp her tunes out to his many famous friends!
There’s something about Lauren that gives us a serious Lindsay Yenter vibe. Maybe it’s her sweet smile, or the way she looks like she might come in second place. The only child “knew early on that she was an independent adventure seeker and travel who liked to live life to the fullest,” which sounds a lot like the fun-loving JPG. She also loves Thai food, so perhaps a Sean Lowe throwback trip to Chiang Rai would be right up her alley.
Do you think Lauren is the right choice for Juan Pablo? Weigh in below.
