The Originals Spoilers: Perry Cox Cast as Young Elijah For Season 1, Episode 16 (PHOTO)
The Mikaelsons haven’t been children for a very, very long time, but in an upcoming flashback on The Originals, we’ll be getting a chance to see the centuries-old vampires as kiddies! Check out the adorable child actor the supernatural series just cast as baby big brother Elijah Mikaelson.
According to Alloy Entertainment, child actor Perry Cox has been cast as young Elijah for Season 1, Episode 16 (“Farewell to Storyville”). And we think he’s perfect for the part! The pint-sized actor has big brown eyes and a knowing stare that we imagine will convey Elijah’s immense sense of responsibility even at a young age. You may have seen Perry before as young Miles on Revolution, or in brief turns in Drop Dead Diva or The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
What will Perry be up to in The Originals? Well, in the episode synopsis, we learn that: “Despite Klaus’ rage, Elijah is determined to protect Rebekah while the three of them are trapped in the City of the Dead cemetery by a witch’s boundary spell. Klaus and Rebekah trade bitter accusations until Elijah steps in to reveal a long-held secret from the family’s past.” Cue flashback!
We’re intrigued that Elijah’s long-held secret dates back to the time before the Mikaelsons were even vampires. Might it have something to do with the werewolves, whom we know lived near the Mikaelsons as they were growing up? Esther Mikaelson even had an affair with a werewolf that resulted in Klaus. Could the deep, dark secret have something to do with that same clan, whom we recently found out has descendants who live in the bayou around NOLA? Only the flashback will tell!
