The Originals Spoilers: What Were Rebekah and Genevieve Doing Together in 1919?
Ever wonder what Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt) was up to during the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1919? Wonder no longer! In addition to plotting her brother’s exodus from New Orleans, Bex took a little time to give back, serving as a nurse in the same now-abandoned hospital she’s held prisoner on The Originals. And you’ll never guess who she had as a sister in scrubs!
OK, so you probably could guess that Rebekah was nurse-pals with Genevieve (Elyse Levesque), aka the ginger witch Celeste recently resurrected. We already know from flashbacks that Genevieve and Rebekah knew one another back in the day. We also know she was in on Rebekah and Marcel’s plan to bring Mikael to town, causing Klaus to flee. It’s even implied that she helped with it. It’s further implied that poor Gen was a loose end Marcel and Rebekah had to “clean up” following the scheme. You can bet revenge against the terrible twosome is high on her list of priorities.
From the looks of this photo, we’re set to find out a lot more about what went down in 1919, as well as the relationship between Bex and Gen in Season 1, Episode 14 (“Long Way Back From Hell”). In the photos, they look fairly chummy in their nursing outfits. They’re decidedly less chummy in present-day affairs — just check out the synopsis.
Yikes! Sounds like Marcel and Rebekah’s secret might finally come out — at least to Elijah. But we all know it’s only a matter of time until Klaus finds out and seeks his own revenge. Watch your back, Bex!
What do you think happened in 1919? Do you think Klaus will find out soon? Share your theories in the comments below!
The Originals returns on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
