Once Upon a Time has taken us many places in just two and a half seasons. We’ve gone down the rabbit hole to Wonderland and gone toe-to-toe against Peter Pan in Neverland — but what does the second half of Season 3 have in store for us? Which magical place will we be jet-setting off to next? Pack your bags, fans, because we’re going…
Actually, you might want to go ahead and unpack your suitcase, because it sounds like we’re going to be staying put for the next half-season.
“The second half [of Season 3] will take place between Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest,” series co-creator Eddy Kitsis tells TVLine. Since we’ve already been to these places before, we don’t think we’ll be racking up any frequent flier miles on the Jolly Roger again anytime soon — at least until Season 4.
“It’s not a ‘journey to another land’ paradigm,” co-creator Adam Horowitz chimes in. “We always have the ability and the desire to dip into other lands, which it’s more than likely we shall do, but it will be in the way that we’ve done in the past, as opposed to locking all our characters onto a boat and sending them [to a new realm].”
So while Eddy hints at a straight-forward conclusion to the season — harkening back to the simplicity of Season 1 — Adam adds a little bit of a tease, giving us the feeling like they have a trick up their sleeves. Perhaps we’ll be heading somewhere via other means of transportation at the end of the season?
