Glee Spoilers: Sue Sylvester Shows Up to Funny Girl’s Opening Night in New York City!
We wouldn't have figured Glee's Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) to be a fan of seeing shows on the Great White Way. However, the always-angry McKinley principal will actually be seated in the audience when Rachel (Lea Michele) makes her Broadway debut in Funny Girl.
Glee is currently filming Season 5, Episode 16: "Tested," which will feature Funny Girl's opening night, with Rachel playing Fanny Brice and Santana (Naya Rivera) as her understudy. And even though Sue was instrumental in getting glee club disbanded at McKinley, she'll still be supporting the two McKinley alums by flying to NYC for the big event.
"We’re shooting [Funny Girl's] opening night right now, and a lot of the original cast members come back to see Rachel, [including Sue]," Jane tells TV Line. "I am shooting an episode now, and Sue is in New York."
What's more, it sounds like we'll be meeting a new love interest for Sue soon. "I probably shouldn’t tell you how she gets there, but I will say that she falls in love, and it’s a lot of fun," Jane continues. "She does some 'Sue’s Corner's' when she gets home because she’s changed by New York."
Intriguing! So it's good to know that, even with Glee solely taking place in NYC now, Sue will still be popping in at times. We think it's very sweet that Sue is going to be watching Rachel's Broadway debut — although we're sure Sue will have something snarky to say about it. And we can't wait to meet Sue's new special someone!
Are you surprised that Sue will be in attendance at Funny Girl's opening night?
