Game of Thrones Spoilers: What Happens in Episodes 8-10?
HBO has been pretty mysterious about the contents of the final three episodes of Game of ThronesSeason 4, but now the network has finally released the plot synopses for the final three episodes of the season, airing in June. Winter is Coming reports them as follows.
Episode 8, “The Mountain and the Viper”: “Unexpected visitors arrive in Mole’s Town; Littlefinger’s motives are questioned; Ramsay tries to prove himself to his father; Tyrion’s fate is decided.”
Sounds like there’s a lot going on in this episode. We’re guessing the unexpected visitors in Mole’s Town are Ygritte, Tormund, and company, though they’re not really that unexpected, they’ve been heading that way for a while now. Littlefinger’s motives are always questioned, so that’s not too shocking. Ramsay trying to prove himself could involve both Moat Cailin and his new job for Reek where he’s going to “play the part” of Theon Greyjoy. And Tyrion’s fate being decided can only be his trial by combat.
Episode 9, “The Watchers on the Wall”: “Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch face a big challenge.”
Will this episode take place entirely at the Wall? We haven't had an episode taking place all in one locale since Season 2's "Blackwater," so if that’s the case it could end up feeling like a mini-movie. This has to be Mance’s invasion finally coming to fruition.
Episode 10, “The Children”: “Circumstances change after an unexpected arrival from north of the Wall; Dany must face harsh realities; Bran learns more about his destiny; Tyrion sees the truth about his situation.”
We already know this episode is the longest the show’s ever done, and it sounds like there’s a lot going on. Sounds like we’ll still be dealing with whatever happens at the Wall in the previous episode, Dany will still likely be having issues in Meereen, probably more weird magic stuff from Bran, and it sounds like Tyrion survives his trial, or at least makes it to the season finale, anyway.
