We’re all in agreement that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is a little bit of a psychopath, right? The lengths to which he has gone to in order to get what he wants on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals is staggering. Not only has he daggered his siblings multiple times, but he’s brutally killed many innocent bystanders. Is Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) the next victim on his list?
Marcel may be the hybrid’s former protégé, but now he definitely registers as an enemy. Not only is he raising a vampiric army in opposition of Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), but he is ready to give everything he’s got in order to take back the French Quarter from the Mikaelsons. How does Klaus feel about this turn of events?
"It's sport to Klaus, so there's some enjoyment," Joseph told TV Guide. "There was line we cut from that final scene where Marcel says something to the effect of, 'If it comes to it, I'll die for my men and my city.' Klaus then says, 'If it comes to it, I have no problem killing you for it as well.'”
Geez, a little harsh! It’s starting to feel like there’s no love lost between these two, though we’ve been reminded through flashbacks just how close they used to be. Is there any hope?
“I've started to [realize] Klaus is an addict, and part of him is addicted to the violence and having someone or something to fight against,” Joseph continued. “But I wonder if he would be willing to end Marcel's life because there's a lot of love between them as well. If only he could dagger him — that's the solution."
Since Marcel isn’t an Original vampire, staking him would only bring about his death. It looks as though Klaus will be faced with a big decision going forward: to kill or not to kill.
