We Finally Know Fired ‘Castle’ Star Stana Katic’s Next Big Project

In a move that would probably make Kate Beckett smirk, the fictional detective’s portrayer is heading to a Lifetime movie.

Castle star Stana Katic’s next big television appearance will be in the flick Sister Cities — and a Pretty Little Liar is even involved!

The 38-year-old and PLL’s Troian Bellario will be playing sisters.

Stana actually shot Sister Cities last year, but it was just picked up by the soapy net, TVLine.com reports.

The indie film is inspired by a stage play of the same name, where four estranged sisters must reunite to mourn their mom.

Because this is a Lifetime movie, the quartet obviously discovers “a secret that could tear them apart.”

If it’s not enough Cities is bringing together Beckett and Spencer Hastings, Gossip Girl alum Michelle Trachtenberg is another sister and celeb daughter Kaia (Crawford) Gerber plays a young Stana.

This is great news for the Castle beauty, who was unceremoniously fired from the ABC procedural a month before the entire series was canceled.

Since Stana’s co-stars are now also out of a job, the two have jumped to high-profile new gigs.

The other half of the Caskett ship, Richard Castle’s alter-ego Nathan Fillion, has joined Modern Family for a multi-episode stint as a weatherman.

Sister Cities airs on Lifetime Saturday, September 17, on Lifetime.
