Star-Crossed: Could Netflix Host a Season 2?

The CW aired Star-Crossed's big finale last night, and it was absolutely explosive, and left a ton of loose ends. To give some idea, a big ol' spaceship full of angry Atrians, who have apparently just been chillin' and getting mad for the past decade, heading toward Earth was maybe the least stressful cliffhanger. After all, pregnant Taylor (Natalie Hall) got in a car crash and seemed near-death, Emery (Aimee Teegarden) was unresponsive after the Suvek was deployed, and Grayson (Gray Damon) was shot — not to mention Teri (Chelsea Gilligan)'s super-dangerous family drama.

So, naturally, fans have been fighting for the show to get a Season 2, even though the series was axed by the CW last week — and in addition to furiously tweeting and petitioning (this petition has over 15,000 signatures!), fans are turning to Netflix for possible answers. After all, the web video giant picked Arrested Development back up for its fourth season, and scooped up a previously-doomed The Killing after it got the axe from AMC.

Fans are furiously tweeting and posting to Facebook about their love of the series, appealing to Netflix to save the show. But could those efforts actually go anywhere?

Wetpaint Entertainment reached out to Netflix to see if they're seriously considering picking up the series — and right now, it appears no news is good news. "We don't have anything to announce at this point in regards to Star-Crossed," said a rep for the site, "but we are always evaluating."

Seriously, you can't just go and give us a Sondiv lesson like this and then end the show.

(Plus, you know, all those cliffhangers and spaceships and stuff. Whatever.)

Are you hoping Netflix picks up Star-Crossed, or are you content to let the series go? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
