Star-Crossed: Will Roman and Emery Stay Together?

Emery Whitehill (Aimee Teegarden) and Roman (Matt Lanter) finally locked lips in Star-Crossed Episode 7: "To Seek a Foe," upgrading their romance level from sexual tension to super-secret love affair. It wasn't so cool for Grayson Montrose (Damon Gray), Emery's then-boyfriend, but what can you do?

The couple seemed to be going strong last week in Episode 8, "An Old Accustom'd Feast" — they made out in a supply closet, Emery met Roman's mom (under the guise of just friendship, of course), and they shared some high-intrigue Atrian political secrets. You know, normal couple stuff. But are they built to last?

"I don’t know. I feel like it’s going to be a slow burn," Aimee told us back in June of the Romery romance. " I feel like it might be a slow burn with some road bumps, like any good high school romance."

Oh lordy. Are they going to be a Ryan Atwood and Marissa Cooper in The O.C. situation — just on-again, off-again until one of them dies in a fiery car wreck? We're getting ahead of ourselves, we know.

"I think that we'll get a little bit of Roman and Emery for a while," Matt told Celebified of his on-screen romance last week. He does say, however, "I don't think it ever cuts out [potential for] a love triangle on the CW, it's always there."

At the end of "An Old Accustom'd Feast," Emery's ex Grayson looked like he was attending a Red Hawks meeting — so he may not actually interfere romantically for a minute, due to being a jerk. But maybe we'll get a Droman triangle!

What about short-term, though? In the promo for tonight's episode, "Some Consequence Yet Hanging in the Stars," we do see one potential threat to Romery: Castor in full-on villain mode. Right now, the biggest threat we see is the reason Roman stayed away from Emery for the first few episodes: Roman's in a big position of political influence for someone so young, and Emery knows too much.

Emery was the first to see the recording that proved Castor caused the Arrival Day crash, and it looks like he and Roman come to a heated confrontation. In previous episodes, Castor has expressed uneasiness about Emery, and we're a little worried that it'll drive Romery apart — not because they want to be apart, but because they are, appropriately, star-crossed lovers.

What do you think — will Romery see the season through together? Weigh in below!
