The Voice: Which Two Coaches Were on Star Search?

We’re pretty sure all fans of The Voice know by now that Christina Aguilera got her start in the music biz as a contestant on Star Search. But did you know she’s not the only coach to hold that distinction? The current occupant of her chair, Usher, competed on the 80s-era talent show as well!

But that wasn’t news to the majority of users on Viggle LIVE! during last night’s Battle Rounds. A whopping 58 percent correctly guessed that Usher had rubbed elbows with Ed McMahon back in the day. An additional 17 percent thought it was Adam Levine, while Blake Shelton and Shakira each garnered 12 percent of the responses.

Not only did Usher appear on Star Search at age 13, but he actually holds a record for the longest note ever held by a child contestant. His performance was certainly impressive enough to capture the attention of starmaker L.A. Reid. The record exec signed Ush to his label, LaFace, shortly after his appearance on the talent show.

Don’t let all that awesome trivia knowledge go to waste; put it to work for you with Viggle. Download the free app and check in to Viggle LIVE! during your favorite shows. It’s not just fun — it’s super rewarding!
