Glee Star: Stop With All the Failure and “Flop” Talk!

There has been an awful lot of chatter in the past year from fans and some critics about how Glee isn't what it used to be, an argument that appears to be backed up by flagging ratings. But is the doomsday talk too harsh?

Kevin McHale (Artie) took to Twitter on January 7 to post an article from Billboard about how people jump the gun when referring to something as a failure or a flop.

Here's what Kevin has to say:

So do you agree with Kevin's point? The article isn't overtly about Glee, as it mainly defends pop artists who are trying to do something different from what they usually do, even if the risk-taking project doesn't get mammoth sales numbers. For example, the article cites Katy Perry's new single "Unconditionally," which didn't sell like "Teenage Dream" did but still shouldn't be deemed a failure.

However, it's easy to see that a similar point could be made about Glee. Glee doesn't pull in as many viewers or sell as many singles as it once did, but does that mean it's not still a good show? Hell to the no! So we wouldn't be surprised if Kevin feels like he understands what these pop stars are going through.

Do you think Glee's critics are too hard on the show?
