Star Wars: Episode VII — Casting Almost Finished, Filming Already Started
May the speedy production be with you! Disney chairman Alan Horn revealed that casting for the new Star Wars movie is almost finished and that filming had already commenced!
When Alan sat down for a recent interview at the Loyola Marymount School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, one student naturally inquired about the progress of Episode VII and how casting is going.
"We have a lot of them. It's not completely done yet," the exec responded, per Variety. "We're actually shooting some of it now."
He did admit that the script was a tough nut to crack for screenwriters J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan.
Lawrence wrote two films of the original trilogy — Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. And J.J. — creator of shows like Alias and Fringe and director of the Star Trek reboot — is also serving as director.
But beyond those details, Alan kept mum on the project.
That means that he didn't confirm the rumored casting of actors like Girls' Adam Driver, Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons, and Downton Abbey's Ed Speelers.
Instead, Alan simply imitated Yoda: "Patience, you must have."
