The British actor was the first choice to voice Paddington bear in the 2014 movie Paddington.

Once he had completed all the work for the film, it was decided by the production that his voice didn’t fit the role. He was replaced by Ben Whishaw.

The success of the movie proved the change was definitely the right choice.

Chloe was 11 years old when she was hired to voice Penny in Bolt. The Disney production fired the original director, Chris Sanders, and ended up changing a lot of his vision.

One of the main changes included replacing Chloe with a Disney favorite, Miley Cyrus. Chloe had already done the work, but they retained a portion of it. She is credited in the movie as “young Penny.”

Before she was one of the biggest names in Hollywood — and definitely before she won her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress — Anne was originally cast as Alison Scott in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up, in 2007.

The movie had some pretty graphic scenes, including a birthing scene in which Anne was supposed to participate. She was reportedly fired for complaining about it. Katherine Heigl was hired instead.

The stunning actress appeared in the first two installments of Transformers as Mikaela Barnes. The films brought her huge success, so it was weird when she was nowhere to be found in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, in 2011.

During production, she had made some nasty comments about director Michael Bay, comparing him to Adolf Hitler. She was quickly fired from the movie.

Yes, even insanely hot actors get fired too. He was ready to start filming the 2009 movie The Lovely Bones. He even gained weight and grew a beard for the film.

But severe disagreements with the movie director, Peter Jackson, left Ryan without a job. Instead, Mark Wahlberg got cast in Ryan’s former role. The movie didn’t do well. Maybe if they hadn’t fired Ryan…

Everything was set for Samantha Morton to star in Her, the 2013 movie in which eventually Scarlett Johansson appeared.

Samantha actually voiced the entire movie before Spike Jonze decided to nix her, replacing her with Scarlett in post production.

Could you imagine a world in which Wolverine was not played by Hugh Jackman? Well, that almost happened.

Originally, Russell Crowe was cast as Logan in the 2000 action-packed X-Men, but his salary demands were too high for the part. Hugh replaced him and the rest is history.

Christian Bale was originally cast as Patrick Bateman in the 2000 movie American Psycho, but he was actually fired because the production wanted to go with someone else.

They pursued Leonardo DiCaprio and Ewan McGregor, eventually going back to Christian after the other two actors turned down the role.

The Irish actor was originally cast as Aragorn in the 2001 movie Lord of the Rings but was fired exactly one day before filming began.

It wasn’t anything he did, really, he just didn’t look right for the part. Production went with Viggo Mortensen instead.

James Purefoy, who looked like pure evil in the TV series The Following, was supposed to play V in the 2005 film V for Vendetta.

Wearing a mask was an issue for him, though, and he said he couldn’t wear it for the entire film. Eventually he was let go and replaced with Hugo Weaving.

Frank Sinatra

The lead in Dirty Harry, the role that propelled Clint Eastwood to stardom in 1979, was actually meant for Frank Sinatra.

Frank took the part, but was not very convincing holding Harry’s gun. The production, together with Frank, decided it was best to look for someone else to play the part.

She managed to get herself fired, not from one, but from two different TV shows. Her roles as Brenda Walsh and Prue Halliwell in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed were promptly written out.

Apparently, Shannen was very demanding and not easy to work with. She had a lot of crazy requests and bad attitude while on the Beverly Hills set, and she also had issues with Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano.

Both shows became staples of the ‘90s and successfully went on without her for many more seasons.

For three seasons, the Shondaland megahit Scandal saw Columbus Short fighting alongside the rest of the gladiators.

As the third season was wrapping up, he was fired due to his private life becoming quite public. He was accused of a couple of different domestic violence incidents, including one in which he threatened his wife with a knife.

She played one of the best characters in the early '00s TV show Desperate Housewives before she got killed off. The reason? The blonde claims it was because she complained about series creator Marc Cherry.

According to her, Marc assaulted her by striking her in the head while on set. He claims it was only a light tap as he tried to direct her in a scene. Soon after, her character was killed.

Nicollette sued everyone involved in the show, from the network to the producers and Marc himself.

The actress starred on Anger Management in 2012 opposite Charlie Sheen — who was also, incidentally, fired from Two and a Half Men. But after she complained about Charlie’s unprofessional behavior on set, he threatened to quit if she wasn’t fired.

The production decided keeping Charlie happy was more important than retaining Selma. She was quickly replaced with Laura Bell Bundy.
