Update (April 11, 2014):
As we get closer to the reported date of Selena’s appearance in court in relation to Justin — April 23 — we’re hearing more about what she may be asked under oath. Life & Style reports she could be questioned about Justin’s alleged drug use including a rumored overdose on sizzurp during a party at his former Calabasas home.
"She knows way too much that could get him in trouble," an insider tells the magazine. "She knows all about his late-night parties filled with weed and alcohol that usually went until nearly 6 a.m." Sounds like a tough spot for her to be in!
Original story (March 28, 2014):
Whether Selena Gomez likes it or not, on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber’s problems are officially her problems. According to TMZ, Selena Gomez has been subpoenaed to testify in a Justin-related paparazzi trial that dates back to 2012.
Sources involved in the case say that Selena’s been called in for questioning in an ongoing suit where Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran, a photographer, accused Justin of kicking him in the stomach in LA. Apparently, Justin got a little rowdy in the parking lot of The Commons in Calabasas, and aside from the original kick, punches were thrown, too. Um, yikes!
So why is Selena getting dragged into the case? She was with Justin that day, so she qualifies as a witness — Sel was spotted heading back to Justin’s car to grab her cell phone and, in the process, apologized to the photographer for her boyfriend’s behavior, which is pretty telling in itself.
And despite the fact that Justin was visibly upset when a lawyer previously questioned him about Selena in the famous deposition about his Miami paparazzi trial earlier this year, word on the street is that Selena may get called in for that one, too.
Selena and Justin may not be married, but when you put these two together, they definitely have to agree that they’re in the relationship for better or for worse… even if it’s more often the latter.
We know Selena will be honest and give her best account of the trial, attitude not included. Unlike someone we know.
