Sullivan & Son Star Ahmed Ahmed Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge
Reality is no laughing matter for sitcom star Ahmed Ahmed these days — TMZreports that the 43-year-old comedian, an actor on TBS's Sullivan & Son, was arrested for domestic violence in Los Angeles last night, January 29.
According to the site, cops arrived on the scene after a neighbor called in to report a fight. The authorities found Ahmed inside the house with a woman who is believed to be his girlfriend — and she allegedly had "visible marks." (The woman reportedly did not need to go to the hospital.)
The cops then arrested Ahmed for felony domestic violence and threw him in jail. He was booked and later released after making the $50,000 bail.
Ahmed was born in Egypt but moved to California with his family a month later. He's been working as an actor and stand-up comedian since he was 19. He has had roles in both action movies like Iron Man and comedies like You Don't Mess With the Zohan. In addition to his starring role on Sullivan & Son, he has also made appearances in Roseanne, Girlfriends, and Weeds. And as a comedian, he performed with the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour from 2005 to 2011.
