It looks like Israel's upcoming edition of The X Factor is getting a major dose of sexy for its premiere season.
After weeks of speculation, sexy supermodel Bar Refaeli has been tapped to host the series.
This isn't the model's first hosting gig, though she has never been attached to something as big as The X Factor. Back in 2008, she had a one-and-over gig on Bravo's Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America and in 2012 appeared on Million Dollar Shooting Star, a model casting reality show in Germany. This will be her local TV hosting debut.
The Israeli version of The X Factor is launching after the massive success of the Israeli version of The Voice, which premiered back in January 2012.
The 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl is estimated to make a salary of around 1 million NIS, which translates to about $270,000. She will be joining the recently-announced judges Rami Fortis, a veteran Israeli rocker, Moshe Peretz, an ethnic-pop sensation, and Ivri Lider, a solo artist who rose to fame as one half of electro-pop group The Young Professionals. According to rumors, the fourth spot is reserved for Shiri Maimon, an Israeli powerhouse balladeer.
The choice to bring 27-year-old Refaeli aboard the show should bode well for the new series. She is a regular face on fashion magazines around the world, has appeared atop Maxim Magazine's Hot 100 list in 2012, and has been attached to actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Preliminary auditions for the freshman season of Israel’s The X Factor are already underway. In order to promote the show, ads featuring show creator Simon Cowell are appearing on Israeli television. Watch one of the TV spots here.
