If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. According to Deadline, CBS’s long-running reality competition series, Survivor, has just been renewed for not one but two new seasons, bringing the total number of times they’ve sent castaways to a random exotic location to 30!

With Survivor: Blood vs. Water, the current season, set to wrap up on December 15, this is excellent news for fans of the series, which premiered back in 2000. And fans can rest assured that host Jeff Probst, who has been on the show since the very beginning, will continue to serve up his sharp hosting chops act as executive producer.

So while we know that at least two more groups of castaways will attempt to “Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast” fellow strangers, we are busy at work thinking of twists the show can still churn out. After 28 seasons, ideas must be pretty scarce, right? But we’re not worried, we’ve never been let down in the past.

“It’s more than a show, it’s part of the fabric of who are we as a family,” creator Mark Burnett said. “My children have grown up with the show and don’t remember life before Survivor.” We can’t either, Mark!

Looks like the fire is far from being extinguished for this reality series. Huzzah!
