ABC has decided to keep the new Dancing With the Stars Season 18 Switch Up partnerships hush-hush until the Monday, April 7 Week 4 live show. But who really wants to wait that long?
Voting was done via Twitter, so curious fans have been analyzing tweets to try and sleuth out the results. What’s the verdict? A couple of different fan counts suggest this might be the new lineup:
Danica McKellar and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Meryl Davis and Val Chmerkovskiy
Charlie White and Peta Murgatroyd
Cody Simpson and Sharna Burgess
James Maslow and Cheryl Burke
Amy Purdy and Mark Ballas
Candace Cameron Bure and Tony Dovolani
NeNe Leakes and Derek Hough
Drew Carey and Witney Carson
What do you think? If this is correct, it means the Chmerkovskiy bros are just switching partners — Maks gets Danica and Val gets Meryl. Both women are strong dancers, so they really can’t complain.
In this lineup, Sharna and Peta both got good partners, not too much up or down for them, but — as much as we love Drew — Witney can’t be too thrilled to go from Cody to The Price Is Right host. Cheryl got a dance talent upgrade to have James for a week, but if Drew stays at the bottom of the leaderboard on Week 4, does that bode ill for Drew and Cheryl, his original partner, in the Week 5 elimination? Eh.
If this is true, Amy got her wish to be paired with Derek’s BFF Mark, but NeNe did NOT get her wish. She specifically did not want Derek, mocking his height in a video package that aired last week. Mark is actually shorter than Derek but for some reason the target was put on the five-time pro champ, which kind of made it inevitable that he and NeNe would be paired. (Maybe that was her secret strategy?)
If this lineup is valid — could we see a personality/dance clash, or will Derek win NeNe over? What partnerships are you most curious to see in action? Do you think this is the real deal?
