Game of Thrones Synopsis for Season 4, Episode 5: “First of His Name”

HBO has announced the plot synopsis for Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 5 (“First of His Name”) and it sounds like it’s going to be a good one! Here’s our rundown of what’s going to happen in the episode — with no book spoilers included!

Cersei and Tywin plotting. The top two Lannisters are going to “plan the crown’s next move.” Since the crown is currently not sitting on anyone, we’re guessing its next move will be to the head of Joffrey’s brother Tommen, given Tywin’s prepping of him for kinghood in Episode 3. The episode’s title also seems to be hinting at the crowning of a new king.

Dany’s future. Dany is going to “discuss future plans” in the episode. We’re sure she’ll still be around Meereen at this point, so she’ll probably be discussing how to take the city, or what to do with it if she’s already taken it.

Jon’s mission. Jon Snow “embarks on a new mission.” While there’s a lot that Jon could be doing at the Wall, we’re guessing he might be on his way to Craster’s Keep to confront the Night’s Watch deserters who are staying there, which is an idea he floated in Episode 3.

This episode of Game of Thrones airs Sunday, May 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
