Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 5, Episode 4: “For Whom the Bell Tolls”

Get ready, Mystic Falls fans! Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries is shaping up to be a huge season, and Episode 4 “For Whom the Bell Tolls” doesn’t sound like it will disappoint.

In Episode 3 (airing October 17), Katherine and Elena (both played by Nina Dobrev) convinced Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to help find Stefan (Paul Wesley) after both having a dream about him being in danger — but their plans were thwarted by newcomer Tessa (Janina Gavankar), who is a big ball of mystery.

Episode 3 also revealed just why Silas (also played by Paul) needs Katherine, but it looks like Episode 4 is going to be all about Stefan. He’s going through some major trauma (um, hello, he was in underwater prison), but Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) seems to be having some problems of his own. And don’t count Jesse (Kendrick Sampson) out just yet — it sounds like he and Caroline (Candice Accola) are going to start hitting things off.

Check out the synopsis below and tune in tonight! Hit the comments to let us know what you think about the episode, too.

“While Mystic Falls observes its traditional Remembrance Day to honor the dead, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) try to help Stefan (Paul Wesley) through a confusing time, a task that ends up taking Elena on an emotional journey of her own. A worried Matt (Zach Roerig) tries to figure out the reason behind his mysterious blackouts, and Caroline (Candice Accola) makes an effort to get to know Jesse (guest star Kendrick Sampson) better. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) makes a startling confession that hits Damon hard. Finally, Dr. Maxfield (guest star Rick Cosnett) puts a plan in motion that will change everything.”

The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
