There aren’t many downsides to being wealthy, famous, and beautiful. However, Tamra Barney has uncovered one totally unsavory aspect of being so triply blessed: Everybody wants a piece of you. In fact, she recently discovered a diet site using her likeness and image to peddle their wares. Well, if you think Tamra would take that lying down, you must not be very familiar with the Real Housewives of Orange County spitfire.
In true Tamra fashion, the OC star took to Twitter and Facebook, urging her fans to launch into attack mode against a Facebook fan page called Diet Secrets for Women 40+.
“PLEASE HELP ME BY REPORTING THIS PAGE,” Tamra all-capsed. “THEY ARE USING MY FACE AND OTHERS TRYING TO SELL DIET PRODUCTS. I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PAGE OR THEIR PRODUCT THANK YOU!” With nearly 600,000 followers on Twitter and an additional 300,000+ fans on Facebook, the newly minted Mrs. Judge certainly has a big megaphone for her message.
The Facebook page in question isn’t just using Tamra’s likeness to shill their wares. The images of Julia Roberts, Lisa Rinna, and Nicolette Sheridan also grace the spammy “fan page,” which links off to a site that looks like Women’s Health’s (but is a fake, to be clear).
We certainly don’t blame Tamra for not wanting her (rockin’) bod used to promote a product she doesn’t endorse. Will you join in her crusade?
