Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany Joins Parks & Rec As Whose Love Interest?

The television gods are certainly shining down on us today, as we’ve just learned that Orphan Black embodiment of perfection Tatiana Maslany will be joining Parks & Recreation when it returns for Season 6. (Take a moment to cheer, we’ll wait.)

Tatiana is a total badass who currently plays a billion clones simultaneously on BBC’s sci-fi hit Orphan Black, and she’s coming to Pawnee for a two-episode arc on Parks. What will her role be? While we’re hoping they’ll be able to fit in a little OB reference, she has so much good in store for her, we know that it’s going to be amazing. Why? Oh, because she’s going to be a love interest for Tom (Aziz Ansari).

(Need another moment? Go for it.) Tom was last involved with the hilarious Mona Lisa (Jenny Slate), and while it wasn’t exactly an ideal match, we’d be devastated if we lost ML’s hilarious one-liners just because Tom’s got a new lady friend. Who knows, perhaps she’ll fight Tatiana for her man…

Parks creator / executive producer Mike Schur blew our minds when he tweetedMaslany. #OrphanRec” today. And while we don’t know yet what he has in mind for Tatiana, the Canadian’s prime acting abilities will certainly come in handy in the flawless (FLAWLESS) cast.

Season 6 is already chock full of some excellent casting — including The Fonz guest starring on the premiere as father to Mona Lisa and Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz, who also stars on House of Lies). Kristen Bell is also guest starring in October on an episode as Ingrid, a snooty City Councilwoman from Eagleton.

It looks like we’ll have plenty of distractions to keep us from getting depressed about Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones leaving the show.

Season 6 of Parks & Rec premieres on Thursday, September 26 on NBC.
