Taylor Swift Calls Out Kanye West on New Song “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”
Watch your back, Kanye West!
Taylor Swift just released her sixth studio album, Reputation, on Friday, November 10 and definitely hit back at her former friend.
The songstress called out the rapper in her song “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” and she’s not trying to be subtle at all.
Throughout the song, the 27-year-old definitely calls out Kim Kardashian’s husband a number of times.
In the second verse of the song she says, “It was so nice being friends again,” which definitely references when she forgave the “Gold Digger” hitmaker after he interrupted her during the 2009 MTV VMAs.
She then sings, “There I was, giving you a second chance / But you stabbed me in the back while shaking my hand.”
She also references her social media beef with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, who released parts of the “Shake It Off” singer’s phone call with Kanye regarding the infamous “I made that b—h famous" line.
The blonde beauty sings in the song, “Friends don’t try to trick you / Get you on the phone and mind-twist you / And so I took an axe to a mended fence.”
Meanwhile, she also seems to mention the father of two’s fractured relationship with rapper Jay-Z.
“I’m not the only friend you’ve lost lately / If only you weren’t so shady,” she sings.
Not to mention, she also hits back at the haters who have criticized her over the last few years.
“Here’s a toast to my real friends / They don’t care about that he said, she said,” she sings.
She continues, “And here’s to my baby / He ain’t readin’ what they call me lately / And here’s to my mama / Had to listen to all this drama / And here’s to you / ‘Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do.”
Just a month before the release of the album, a source told Us Weekly the songstress would be taking aim at her feuds.
“It will be across multiple songs, somewhat cryptically, but also obvious,” the source said.
