It may have only been a year since her last album, Red, dropped — sitting pretty on the Billboard charts at number 1 for 16 non-consecutive weeks, mind you — but Taylor Swift is already working on her next release.

According to Rolling Stone, Taylor’s been working on her follow-up album for six months already, and she’s promising this one will be different than the last. So what exactly can we expect? Taylor’s not offering up the specifics just yet, but she will say she’s sticking to what’s worked for her in the past — opening up her emotions in her songs.

"I think the goal for the next album is to continue to change, and never change in the same way twice," Taylor said. "How do I write these figurative diary entries in ways that I've never written them before and to a sonic backdrop that I've never explored before?"

Taylor’s said recently that she needs to change her dating approach, so we’re glad to hear that doesn’t include giving up writing love songs about her relationships. We want to continue being privy to every detail!

And despite all of her success on pop radio (and the backlash this has caused from many country fans insisting she can no longer be considered a country artist), Taylor refuses to commit to a single genre.

"I would never see myself that way," she said. "I see myself as kind of this girl who writes songs in her bedroom."

We can’t wait to hear Taylor’s next album — we would like to hear some songs about Harry Styles, please!
