Hallelujah! Please say a little prayer to St. Farrah Abraham, because it looks like Teen Mom 2 is coming back for a sixth season of baby mama drama-rama. The hit MTV show's current season has been absolutely fabulous (and more OMG-inducing than ever), and we definitely are not ready to say goodbye to Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, and Leah Messer. Luckily, it doesn't seem like we'll have to!
Based on a new report from RadarOnline.com, producers have been so impressed with Teen Mom 2's season 5 ratings that they've greenlit a sixth season. “Producers saw that ratings were so high,” a source says. “And now there’s a whole new crop of drama: Jenelle’s pregnant, and Leah and Jeremy are talking divorce. It would be foolish to stop filming now.”
According to the source, Season 6 will premiere later this year, but keep in mind that when Wetpaint Entertainment reached out to MTV last month to confirm the rumors, a spokesperson told us, “No decisions have been made regarding additional season of Teen Mom 2.”
Yet, we can’t help but notice Jenelle’s recent Instagram photo of mysterious cameras in her car. “Let's get the ball rollin,” she captioned the snapshot. Although we don’t know whether these cameras are in fact MTV’s, they could quite possibly be for a potential catch-up special or the revival of Teen Mom 2. Guess only time will tell!
Whether or not reports are true, we can expect the next (possible) season to chronicle the remainder of Jenelle's pregnancy (and probably her delivery), as well as Leah and Jeremy's marital struggles, Kailyn's new role as a mother-of-two, and Chelsea's continual drama with her baby daddy, Adam Lind. Sounds like a recipe for success!
