Recap of Teen Mom 2 Season 5, Episode 5 (February 18, 2014)
Hands up if you were crying copious tears during this week's episode of Teen Mom 2? Join the lonely hearts club, friends. Leah Messer's journey is getting tougher and tougher by the day, and this week we learned that she and her husband, Jeremy Calvert, thought about moving into a "double wide" trailer home while waiting to buy a new house.
Leah and Jerry's impending move (yes, we call Jeremy "Jerry" now) is a result of needing a handicap accessible home for Leah's daughter, Aliannah, and their willingness to move into a trailer proves that Leah's ready to do whatever it takes to make her little lady comfortable and happy. Also, "double wide" is going to be our new nickname for Jeremy's neck (he's so muscular!).
Leah is extremely proactive about changing her life for the sake of Ali, but her ex-husband, Corey Simms? Not so much. Corey loves Ali with the power of a thousand camo baseball hats, but he seems to be in denial about the severity of his kiddo's muscular dystrophy diagnosis.
This week, Corey even told his dad, Jeff Simms, that he didn't want Ali using her wheelchair! We understand where this dude is coming from, but his approach to Ali's condition couldn't be more dissimilar to Leah's. This blondie locks is 100 percent pragmatic, while Corey is all about staying positive and hopeful — sometimes at the expense of actual facts.
