Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert had a whirlwind romance and got married faster than you can say "moonshine," but this Teen Mom 2 couple's relationship is far from perfect. Despite being more in love than ever, Leah and Jeremy don't get to spend that much time together because of Jeremy's out-of-state job as a pipeliner, which takes him away from home for weeks at a time. Even worse? Jeremy's terrible at communicating with Leah while he's gone, which puts undue stress on their relationship!
"I need my husband and his kids need their daddy at the same time," Leah tweeted. "And he would go a week without talking to us."
Unacceptable, Jeremy. Almost as unacceptable as the time you wore a hoop earring. Luckily, Leah is well aware of the issues in her marriage, and this week on Teen Mom 2 she tried to get Jeremy on board with therapy. The result? Not great. This dude basically refused marriage counseling, and Leah thinks his resistance all boils down to some deep-seeded communication issues.
"It's almost like you put this guard up, like 'I don't need anybody to tell me what to do, I know what to do.' And you feel like less of a man, or you feel embarrassed so to say," Leah told Jeremy during Teen Mom 2's after show. "I think it's a man's nature to not communicate well with women. Us women want to throw everything out there, and talk about everything, and go into details and really vent."
Jeremy didn't argue with Leah's theory, and didn't even put up a fight when she went on to say "As long as we've been together, you've maybe expressed your feelings one time."
Clearly, Jeremy needs to pop in some Taylor Swift, grab a pint of ice cream, and get in touch with his emotions!
