Teen Mom 2’s Kailyn Lowry’s memoir, Pride Over Pity, has only been out for one day and already is in Amazon’s Top 100. Talk about impressive! But despite how successful her inspiring autobiography is, it’s chalk-full of emotional tales — some of which MTV didn’t even know about! — which has left us speechless. The most shocking was her abortion, and believe it or not, Kailyn doesn’t regret it.

The mother-of-two recently opened up about her past with OKMagazine.com and dished about her abortion, which was the result of her first rape (yes, she was raped twice). Not only did she get an abortion at the young age of 16, but her mother, Suzi, forced her to do it.

Looking back, I know why I should have had one because I was 16. I didn’t have a license. I didn’t have a job. I had nothing. I was literally with my mom, and I don’t know if I even had my first job at that point,” Kailyn explains.

“Now as a 22-year-old, I see what the circumstances were. But how my mom went about it and the things she said, I think she was embarrassed. So I get upset, but I think now looking back, it was the right decision.”

With the news of her abortion now out for public to read, Kailyn admitted that she was mostly worried that someone other than herself would be the first to talk about it. “I was actually scared that someone was going to try and sell my abortion story before it had come out and I was able to write about it myself. That was one of my deepest fears.”

The Teen Mom 2 also opened up about losing her virginity — when she was only in the eighth grade. Despite Kailyn feeling “naïve, dumb, [and] immature” looking back, she admits that “ I don’t want to say I regret it, because obviously I wouldn’t know or feel how I feel now if I regretted it, but it was definitely a learning experience and I would definitely encourage girls not to have sex so young.”

Not only did Kailyn go through all the above, but she also dealt with various eating disorders, homelessness, drugs, and she even lived with an addict for a mom. It’s amazing to see this girl overcome everything, and turn out to be such a strong and inspiring woman. She is so wise y’all, we just can’t.

“Honestly, writing the book and everything that was involved in it was so therapeutic for me because there were things I literally wrote down and haven’t thought about them since,” Kailyn adds. “It’s not weight on my shoulders anymore.”
