Teen Mom 3's Briana Dejesus got pregnant at the tender age of 16 after getting frisky sans protection with then-boyfriend Devoin Austin, but has she since learned her lesson? You betcha!

"[I was] so scared," Briana tells Maci Bookout about having sex after giving birth to baby Nova. "I was like, let me get on birth control before I even think about unzipping my pants."

While getting on the pill or an alternative form of contraception is definitely a good idea, it's important to remember that condoms should also be used, especially if you're not in a monogamous relationship. Unfortunately, some women feel uncomfortable buying condoms, including Briana who recounts one particularly painful experience at the pharmacy.

"I was so nervous, sweat was coming down … they're going to think of me as some kind of slut because I want condoms," Briana recalls. "It's nerve wracking, like, 'Hey, can I have some condoms?'"

Even fellow castmate Katie Yeager, who's comfortable enough in her own skin to breastfeed on national television, has trouble purchasing protection. "I order mine online," she confesses. "The UPS guy doesn't have to see what's in the box."

It's unfortunate that we live in a world where girls can't take control of their sexuality without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. Short of abstaining from sex altogether, being prepared is the best way to prevent unplanned pregnancy and STDs. Buying condoms isn't slutty — it's smart.
