Remember back in April when Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham made the worst decision of her life? You know, that time she got down and dirty on camera with big time porn star James Deen and tried to pass it off as a personal sex tape? As if you could forget. Our retinas may never fully recover. But we're not the only ones emotionally scarred by Farrah's foray into adult entertainment — the Backdoor Teen Mom star herself can't seem to shake the demons of her porn past.
“It made it hard to have friends and a private life and to trust family, who I feel use me for money,” Farrah says in the current issue ofIn Touch. “If I went back in time, I would not have done it. The sex tape ruined my life.”
What about the money, you ask? According to Farrah, who reportedly made over six figures when she sold the rights to Vivid Entertainment, the initial plan was to complete her masters degree and start a business, but — spoiler alert — she purchased a Tesla and a mansion instead, and has been living the high life ever since.
But thanks to the much-needed guidance of Dr. Jenn from VH1's Couples Therapy, Farrah's learning that being a world-famous sex object isn't all it's cracked up to me. Porn pennies might buy fancy cars and big houses, but they don't necessarily buy happiness.
“Therapy helped me understand I can’t continue experiencing life [the way I had been], that I’m more special than sex tapes,” she says. “Hearing others tell me my worth is [all based on] my body. ... I’m stronger than that.”
That's the spirit, Farrah! It's time to close the (back)door on this chapter for good so you can focus on yourself and your 4-year-old daughter Sophia. Also, because we're seriously running out of backdoor jokes.
