Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans might be the happiest jailbird we've ever seen! The 21-year-old ended up behind bars (again) on Monday, May 20 after skipping her court date to face cyberstalking charges stemming from a 2012 incident. A Brunswick County judge was none too pleased with Jenelle's truancy and immediately issued a warrant for her arrest. Our girl turned herself in later that afternoon and flashed her pearly whites for the camera before posting her own bail.
According to Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan who spoke to Us Weekly, she was "running late to court" and since it was the last case of the day, the judge slapped her with a "$1,000 secure bond" — meaning Jenelle must appear in court on a later date.
"She was virtually under arrest for failure to appear so she turned herself in," Dustin continued.
So what was so important that Jenelle couldn't show up to plead "not guilty"? Another Ke$ha concert, perhaps? Or maybe she wanted to get arrested so she could be reunited with estranged hubby Courtland Rogers, who is still behind bars? Nah. Jenelle says it was all just a simple mistake.
"Yes I forgot my court date yesterday, but got it taken care of within 10 mins," she tweeted on May 21, adding that she's been feeling a bit under the weather. Just a couple days prior she visited the ER and was given antibiotics for an infection in her lymph nodes.
Jenelle is due back in court on July 25 for this matter, according to RadarOnline.com. She'll face simple assault charges on June 3, and her felony heroin possession case has been continued until July 1, but she'll likely be indicted earlier.
Can somebody please buy Jenelle a PalmPilot before then?!
