It was a big morning for Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans, who headed to the Brunswick County Courthouse (yes, again) to face felony heroin possession and drug paraphernalia charges stemming from her April 23 arrest with estranged husband Courtland Rogers. According to local sources, the 21-year-old wasn't slapped with any jail time for those charges (bless you, Dustin Sullivan), but she didn't exactly get off scot-free either.
According to the the West Brunswick's WECT 6 news, Jenelle pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and is facing 18 months of unsupervised probation. The news outlet reports that her felony possession and simple assault charges were dropped.
But wait! In a surprising twist, the judge ordered a random drug test and — spoiler alert! — Jenelle failed with flying colors.
"She tested positive for marijuana," Jenelle's lawyer Dustin confirmed to Wetpaint Entertainment. Wah waaah.
Her punishment? Forty-eight hours in the slammer, which unfortunately means no brilliant Twitter musings for two days. How ever will we cope?!
Failed drug test aside, today was another success for Jenelle, who has somehow managed to dodge prison every single time. And lest we remind you, homegirl's got nine arrests under her Ed Hardy belt. But on the downside, a 48-hour stint in the clink certainly won't help her case to regain custody of 4-year-old Jace.
As for hubby dearest? We initially reported that Courtland copped a plea deal for the possession charges, receiving credit for the 100 days he spent in the slammer, but it looks like he's not in the clear just yet. WECT 6 reports that he's due back in court to face additional charges, including possession with intent to sell and distribute heroin.
Stay tuned to Wetpaint Entertainment for more on this developing story.
