Out of all the baby daddies on Teen Mom, Tyler Baltierra might just be the sweetest, most genuine, and most sincere. This guy has a lot to be thankful for, but his life hasn't always been easy. Many of Tyler's hardships have been chronicled on television (like his rocky relationship with his infamous father, Butch Baltierra), but there are parts of his life that he hasn't had the opportunity to share with fans — until now.
Tyler recently took it to Twitter to pen a thoughtful letter to his followers, in which he shared several traumatic childhood experiences — including the fact that he was abused.
"Everyone assumes they know me or a lot about me. You only know what the network wanted you to know," Tyler writes. "No one knows I was molested at the age of 8. I drank my first beer and smoked my first joint at 9."
We can't imagine how hard these experiences were on Tyler, and it seems like he suffered depression as a result.
"I was kicked out of ALL the schools I went to. I was addicted to stealing & attempted suicide twice," he continues. "So next time you think you REALLY know someone…. Don't judge, keep your heart & mind open & learn to love your enemies…. That's all I have to say."
It's extremely brave of Tyler to share this information with fans, and hopefully everyone can take something away from his message. Luckily, Tyler is currently surrounded by people who know and love him — including his fiancée, Catelynn Lowell, who has stood by him through thick and thin.
