Have you heard the fabulous news? Teen Mom's legendary jailbird, Amber Portwood, is being released from the slammer in November, and we couldn't be more excited. This broad entered the Rockville Correctional Facility after opting out of her drug court program in 2012, and she was expected to serve a whopping five-year sentence.
Amber's swift release may come as a surprise to some, but this gal's brother's, Shawn Portwood, has repeatedly told fans that his sister has made huge strides while in prison. So, what does Shawn have to say about Amber's early release date?
"Congratulations sis," he tweeted on September 24. "I am so happy that you are finally being released. You did everything you needed to do to get out long before 5 years."
According to Shawn, Amber wanted to keep her early release a secret from the public –– presumably to avoid a media frenzy. We can only assume that this starlet wants to reunite with her family in private, especially when it comes to her daughter, Leah. Amber and her "Boo Boo" have a lot of lost time to make up for!
"I received and [sic] email and text last night by the IDOC about her release but wanted to keep it secret bc that is what Amber wanted," Shawn confirmed.
Here's to hoping that Amber won't be hounded too much by the paparazzi upon her release –– though we wouldn't mind MTV checking in on her with a catch-up special… or an entire series. Either way!
