Former Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has less than a month left in the slammer — and our favorite jailbird is apparently one changed woman.

Amber entered the Rockville Correctional Facility after opting out of her drug court program in 2012 and was expected to serve a five-year sentence in the prison. Thanks to the former reality star’s good behavior, however, Amber is being released far earlier than expected and will reportedly be a free woman on November 6.

So what is this “new” Amber like? Amber’s famously outspoken brother, Shawn Portwood, tells OK! Magazine that the mom to 4-year-old Leah has truly grown up during her time behind bars.

“She’s really grown and matured she completed her drug rehab [in prison], she got her G.E.D., she completed parenting classes and she became the administrator of the CLIFF program, which helps inmates get sober,” Shawn told the magazine. “She did so well in cleaning herself up, that she spent most of her jail time helping other girls get clean.”

One person who’s not so excited about Amber’s upcoming release? Amber’s ex and baby daddy, Gary Shirley.

"God I love not having diverse parenting issues," Gary, who currently has a new girlfriend, tweeted last week. "All will soon end, soon. Boo! Oh well I'm a good daddy!"

Perhaps its for the best if these two lovebirds stay exes, especially considering Amber’s intense rage whenever the two are together for more than five minutes.

“Most of Amber’s problems revolved around Gary, so it’s a hot issue,” Shawn explained. “He can keep Leah away from Amber, and in the past when that’s happened, it triggers Amber in a bad way. Her demeanor has changed, so that will help.”
