Teen Mom's resident jailbird Amber Portwood was released from prison on November 4 (after serving 17 months of her 5-year sentence!), and no one's more excited for her newfound freedom than fellow MTV star Farrah Abraham. In fact, Farrah doesn't blame the troubled starlet one bit for her volatile behavior and subsequent drug addiction — she pegs it on the lovable teddy bear that is baby daddy Gary Shirley!
“Gary antagonized Amber while she was also dealing with stress and handling her bipolar disorder,” Farrah told RadarOnline.com.
This isn't the first time that Farrah has slammed Amber's ex-boo. After the series finale of Teen Mom in August 2012, the amatuer porn princess tweeted, "What a pig! You're horrible. Go get mental help for Amber's sake P.O.S." She also critiqued his parenting skills, calling Gary "negative" and unfocused. "I don't see how he is better to raise Leah then Amber," she said.
Fast forward over a year later and little Leah is flourishing under Gary's guardianship — though, he did make a couple of mistakes along the way, you know, like telling Leah that his mom was in Hollywood driving a Twinkie truck when she was actually shacked up at the Rockville Correctional Facility. NBD.
Regardless of what happened in the past, Farrah's just happy Amber can start her life anew.
“I’m happy Amber is out of jail, she never deserved to be in jail,” she concluded. “I hope Amber can now stay away from the pressures of the media and focus on her new, healthier beginning at life. I hope Leah can have a loving mother and daughter relationship.”
As long as Amber doesn't take a jar of hot wax to Leah's face during the middle of the night, we have the utmost confidence.
What do you think of Farrah's take on the situation? Is Gary really to blame for Amber's troubles? Weigh in below.
