It's a well-known fact that Teen Mom's Catelynn Lowell is extremely passionate about her pro-life views. She and her fiancé, Tyler Baltierra (aka the perfect man) chose to place their daughter Carly for adoption, and have been on a mission to educate people about the adoption process ever since. Of course, their work goes hand-in-hand with encouraging people not to get abortions.

MTV has made it clear that they want to show both sides of the pro-life vs. pro-choice debate (they even aired an abortion special), but Catelynn definitely isn't down with women having the right to choose. This gal has stirred up controversy in the past with her pro-life tweets, and she recently took it to Twitter to share a side-by-side photo of a fetus and an organism on Mars with the caption, "Why would a bacteria be considered life on Mars and a heartbeat not be considered life on Earth?"

As you can imagine, Catelynn's followers got in a pretty heated debate as a result, with supporters on either side of the political fence. One of Cate's pro-choice fans responded to the question with, "Because bacteria are self-sufficient. Embryos cannot function outside of the host," while one of her fellow pro-life peeps commented, "You'd go to jail if you killed a baby out of womb so why is it any different when it is growing into a beautiful innocent baby?"

Both sides make solid points, but the issue is far more complicated than this Instagram picture points out — for example, abortion in the case of rape or when the mother's life is at risk.

We applaud Catelynn for not shying away from such a controversial topic (it's important to have dialogues about hot-button issues!), but do you agree with her opinion about abortion? Hit the comments and let us know what you think!
