The day we've been waiting for is finally upon us! Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Courtland Rogers, who she married in a small courthouse ceremony back in December 2012. Jenelle and Courtland's relationship didn't exactly work out as planned, and unfortunately they were both arrested in April 2013 for heroin possession.

Jenelle had to wait an entire year before filing for divorce thanks to a pesky rule in her home state of North Carolina, and fans are dying to know what comes next now that she's sent papers to her hubby.

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Jenelle's lawyer, Dustin Sullivan, who spilled the details about Jenelle's hotly-anticipated divorce filing. "The papers filed included a complaint for divorce and a request for her to resume her maiden name of Evans,"  Dustin tells us. "[They] were filed Friday, May 2, 2014."

Jenelle already uses her maiden name in her day-to-day life (as well as on social media), but we're sure she's more than ready to be "Jenelle Evans" on paper! So, what's next in this ongoing saga? "The complaint must be served on Courtland Rogers," Dustin says. "Once he is served he has 30 days to respond." If he doesn't do so, Dustin says that "the court will most likely grant our request for Ms. Evans to be divorced from Mr. Rogers."

As of May 2, Courtland hadn't received papers from Jenelle (which makes sense considering they were filed that day), however this southern gent has made it clear that he wants to end their marriage just as much as she does. Hopefully, Courtland will sign the papers as soon as he gets them so that Jenelle is free to marry her baby daddy, Nathan Griffith, who she's expecting a child with this summer.

Do you think Courtland will agree to the terms of his divorce with Jenelle? Head to the comments and let us know!
