We’ve learned all kinds of life lessons from watching the documentary force of nature that is Teen Mom 2. For example, random street cats are the remedy for every life crisis.
We’ve also picked up some bona fide words of wisdom from these ladies, so check out our top five lessons from this week’s double episode!
1. Always Look On The Bright Side
Leah and Corey were told by Ali’s geneticist that they’d have to wait four whole weeks for her test results, and in the meantime the doctor delivered the news that Ali might have a life-threatening illness. It was hard for this little family to remain positive during a month of anxiety, but surprisingly, Corey offered up the best advice: To live life to the fullest and assume Ali was healthy until they categorically knew something was wrong with her.
Corey and Leah kept their spirits up playing with the newest member of their family (a kitten) and distracted themselves with work and their adorable twins.
2. Patience Is A Virtue
Corey and Leah had to wait an entire month for Ali’s test results, Jenelle had to wait weeks for someone to bail Kieffer out of Jail, Chelsea had to wait for the right apartment, and Kailyn spent hours calling up salvage yards to take her car.
When it came down to it, all four of these girls had to practice patience to get them through the rough times.
Of course, said patience led to fits of crying, way too many sweatpants, and fast food, but moving on...
3. Keep Your Cool
We were shocked that Chelsea didn’t fly off the handle when Adam showed up to her house only to be completely useless and pouty. Seriously, this poor girl already has one baby to take care of. How does she do it?
We learned a valuable lesson from Chelsea: When dealing with someone who is completely out-of-their-mind-emo, it’s best to turn the other way. We’ve seen these two argue one too many times, and it’s fugly.
Not as fugly as Adam’s flirtation with facial hair, but fugly none-the-less.
4. The Only Person You Can Count on Is Yourself
Out of all the Teen Moms, Kailyn has to be the most awe-inspiring. She’s raising Isaac all on her lonesome, without the help of her mom, ex-boyfriend, or any friends.
Of course, Jo has Isaac for the weekends, but Kail is ridin’ solo the rest of the time.
Kailyn was overwhelmed by her independence when her car broke down this week, leaving her totally incapacitated. Poor girl was crying tears and bleeding money, but she rallied and got through the situation without anyone’s help.
Well, Jordan drove her to the used car lot, but he’s just there for eye-candy.
5. When It’s Over, It’s Over
Oh, Jenelle. The image of this girl running down the street in her sweats screaming at Kieffer is forever burned in our memory.
It must have been hard for Jenelley to re-live that moment on screen, but when you’ve hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is up.
Jenelle and Kieffer’s breakup teaches all girls that no boy is worth running down the street in hysterics for, especially homeless grifters who spend their vacation time in jail.
