Just because Teen Mom star Amber Portwood isn't going to a halfway house as originally planned now that she's been released from jail doesn't mean that the rules have changed — she's on a tighter leash than ever.
As we reported last week, Amber was ordered by a judge to live in a halfway house while enrolled in rehab for substance abuse, which would have prevented her from taping Teen Mom, but would keep her from having to serve serious jail time; the halfway house refused to take her, because they were convinced that she would be a distraction to the other clients. Fortunately for Amber, she was able to move in with her grandparents instead, which won't interfere with Teen Mom.
But while she's there, the troubled Teen Mom star has to keep her nose clean in a serious way. Alcohol is verboten in all forms — which means not just drinking, but even mouthwash and medications containing alcohol, too, and she can only leave the house under special circumstances, such as meetings with her attorney or AA meetings. If she violates any of these rules, she'll be headed back to the slammer.
We're glad to see Amber taking steps to clean up her act — Leah deserves a good mother!
